Some people prefer a short, practical answer. Others appreciate a more supportive conversation. In tri, you can choose the assistant’s communication style and change it whenever a different tone suits you better.

Where to choose

Open AI settings and the Communication style section. The app offers Neutral, Friendly, Doctor, Toxic and Old Russian styles.

Neutral gives a calm explanation. Friendly adds more support. Doctor uses a matter-of-fact tone. Toxic answers with sharp irony; choose it if that delivery appeals to you. Old Russian uses a stylized historical form of Russian speech.

The separate Toxic Pro Max style has its own purchase terms. It is different from the standard Toxic style and should not be assumed to come automatically with the other options.

One question, the same facts

Consider the example question: “How did I sleep last night?” The demonstration data is 6 hours 12 minutes of sleep, a resting heart rate of 58, and this person’s usual resting heart rate of 52.

A neutral response might say: “You slept 6 hr 12 min. Resting heart rate was 58 compared with your usual 52. Let’s look at bedtime and awakenings.”

A friendly response might say: “You slept 6 hr 12 min. Resting heart rate was 58; it is usually 52 for you. Let’s look together at when you went to bed and whether you woke up.”

These are written examples of tone, not direct quotes from somebody else’s chat. The point is that delivery changes while the measurements stay the same.

What the style does not change

The selected personality should not change measurements, calculations or whether an entry is saved. Food should go into the same diary, and an alarm should have the time you requested. A lively phrase alone does not prove that an action was completed: check the result in the relevant app section.

Doctor describes a communication style. It does not give the assistant medical qualifications or make it a substitute for a clinician.

Find the style that suits you

Ask the same question in different styles. Notice whether the answer is easy to read and whether you feel comfortable asking follow-up questions. If irony distracts you, return to Neutral. If the answer feels too dry, try Friendly.

You do not have to choose one personality forever. A quick question and a longer explanation may call for different styles. The main test is whether the answer and the result of the action are clear to you.
